Agape of Jesus Seminary was established in 1974. It was first founded in Louisville, Kentucky. It was then known as the Sungaeros Institute. Then it moved to Mount St. Francis, Indiana. It was known as Agape Seminary at that time. It again moved to Florida a different location, where it founded its infrastructure in Fort Myers. And lastly in 1993 it finally settled relocating itself to the Tampa Bay Area. The Florida State Board of Independent Schools and Universities is the operating authority of the Seminary. It is a non-profit institution. The degrees awarded by them are not academic degrees; they are religious and theological degrees. It is a trans-denominational institution. Many feel the urge to serve Lord, be it young or old; and so the authorities encourage all to consider the programs offered by Agape of Jesus Seminary.

The programs are rooted in traditional Catholic Theology, and Early Church tradition. Agape of Jesus Seminary provides distance education facilities. Students can study in their own home at their own speed. Students can take months or one whole year to complete their program. In case students cannot successfully complete their program they will be guided by the faculty at Agape to pass the examination. The examination is very easy. It is an open book test. Students will have to find off-campus housing near the Agape campus, as there is no on-campus housing facility. There will be apartments and lodges near the campus where students can stay.
