Albany Technical College was founded in 1961. Albany Technical College is a public post secondary institution of the Technical College System of Georgia. Albany Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. The college offers technical education and training support to the students. The college offers traditional, online and distance learning methods of education. The students are trained to become industry ready in the field of business, technical sciences, allied health, personal services and industrial jobs. More than 2500 students enroll for credit programs per quarter. The students are offered various services such as library, career services, book store etc.

The students can apply online. They will have to take COMPASS or ASSET test which help the students to determine the best course placement. The Dual Enrollment courses require both high schools and college curriculum standards. The fee for the full time students (12 or more credit hours) is $513 and tuition fee for the part time students (fewer than 12 credit hours) is $36/credit hour.
Albany Technical College is a commuter college and hence does not offer any on campus housing. The students will have to arrange their own accommodation. They will find several housing options like apartments, rentals etc. They are advised to check before renting accommodation.
