Altamaha Technical College

Introduction

Altamaha Technical College was founded on January 3, 1985. Altamaha Technical College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education. This accreditation allows the college students to obtain federal financial assistance. Altamaha Technical College is a candidate for accreditation with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The college offers fantastic services to the students like library, financial aids, job opportunities, students' organization, etc. The students are trained to become industry ready. The college helps them in preparing for the job market. The students are trained by dedicated trainers who are experts from the industry with several years of experience. There are several older adult students attending the college, seeking career changing education.


Course Details

Altamaha Technical College offers a wide range of career choices in forms of Associate of Applied Science degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates. Many of the majors are in transportation, office and administration, construction trades, and mechanics and repair. The college offers programs in the following areas,

  • Admission Procedures

    The college offers open admission to the students who meet the minimum requirements. The students will have to submit an application along with a non refundable, one-time $15 application fee. The students will have to provide official high school transcripts or GED scores and all other past academics records. A high school diploma/GED is mandatory for all associate degree programs and for most diploma and certificate programs. The students will have to take Asset or compass placement examination or provide SAT or ACT scores less than 5 years old. Applications are to be mailed or hand delivered to the Admissions office. The students can also apply online. The in state tuition and fees is $1,539. Books and supplies cost another $937. The students from out of the state will have to pay $2,835.

    Accommodation facilities:

    The college does not offer any on campus accommodations. The students will have to find their own accommodation. There are many housing options like apartments, houses, etc. The students are advised to check before renting accommodations.
