Set up in 1979, Baran Institute of Technology focuses on hands on training. From 2005, the institute has been operating from its 40 acre campus at Town of East Windsor, Connecticut. The institute provides career oriented training programs in CDL Training, Motorcycle Technology, Automotive, Autobody, Electrical, Diesel, HVAC/R and Welding. Baran Institute of Technology is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology recognized by the US Department of Education. Students of the institute are also eligible for federal financial aid.Graduates from the Institute have established themselves successfully either in business enterprise or have set up their own shop. The program includes knowledge about Shifting, Coupling Space Management, Night Driving, Log books, Vehicle systems, Vehicle inspection, Vehicle control, Visual Search, Speed Management and Fifth wheels and sliding tandems.

Electrical Technology Program:
graduates of the program are able to seek entry level positions as Electrician Apprentices. It trains the student to fit into the electrical field.
the program includes UMS Factory Program (Universal Measurement System). It helps the students secure Federal IMACA License while in school and certificate for 75 hours instruction on UMS. The course also teaches PPG painting systems.
helps students to seek entry level positions as a technician, motorcycle repairer or get into a private fabrication bike shop.
provides affiliated programs like Mercedes-Benz ELITE Program, Volvo SAFE, Audi Academy Technician Program, International Tech-Ed Program, BMW STEP Program, and Volkswagen Academy Technician Recruitment Program.
training is provided on GMC automotive diesel, Cummins, Detroit , Mack, Caterpillar.
HVAC/R Technology Program:
includes trouble shooting of commercial and domestic heating and cooling units and electrical plumbing.
Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding, Oxyacetylene Welding, Blue Print Reading, Metallic Arc Welding, Metal Inert Gas (MIG) Welding.
A high school diploma or GED is needed to seek admission at Baran Institute of Technology. Interview is conducted for both the applicant and the family. Previous experience of training is also considered.
The institute doesn't provide campus housing, but dormitory service is applicable on first come first serve basis through agreements with properties. Students also find attractive lodging facilities at Hilltop Campus, Capitol City Campus, and Suffield. Assistance is also provided by the Institutes' Housing Admissions Coordinator during admission process.
