Introduction:

Established in 1884, Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing is the oldest nursing school in Connecticut and one of the oldest in USA. It offers approximately 100 years of expertise and experience in the nursing field and nursing education. The factors and qualities that have made Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing so popular and renowned are its commitment to caring and clinical excellence. About 10% of the nurse graduates of the State of Connecticut are from this Institution. The pass outs of this Institutes have the highest reputation of cracking registered nurse examination(NCLEX).

Courses offered:

There are several courses offered in Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. Nursing program is one of the major programs offered by the Institution which is also popularly known as the hospital based nursing program. The curriculum designed by the Institute best suites the philosophy, objectives and organizing framework of the Institute. The nursing program offered by the Institute is comprised of forty credits and the programs on biological, behavioral and social sciences are comprised of thirty credits. The Institute also offers associate degrees, diploma programs, partial evening RN program. Also the Institute offers accelerated RN program and LPN to RN program.

Admission procedures:

As a part of the admission procedures in Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, the college requires the students to take a English Language proficiency test which is better known as TOEFL. The student seeking admission in this Institute should secure a total of 500 score in TOEFL. Another admission requirement for the students is to complete the High School Graduation or GED. August is the admission month of the Institute. An important factor about the administration procedures is that it admits students irrespective of their age, sex, gender, marital status etc. The application form should be fully completed and submitted within the stipulated time. Within the application deadline , the student has to provide the Institute with the reference letter, the transcripts from the previous schools and colleges and also the essay required for admission. The transcript should properly show the proof of the successful completion of 16 units in college preparatory courses. This should include 4 years of English, 2 years of Mathematics, 1 year of Biology with lab and 1 year of Chemistry with lab. The student might be required to appear for an interview though not mandatory.
