Brown College of Court Reporting & Medical Transcription was established in 1972. Brown College of Court Reporting & Medical Transcription is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and is licensed to operate through the Georgia Non-Public Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC). The college is member of Association for Health care Documentation Integrity. Its court reporting program is certified by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA). The students are trained by dedicated instructors who are experts in their fields. The students can also opt for distance learning programs if they qualify. The classes are taken in small sizes as such the students get personal attention. The students can also apply for financial aids. Court reporting: the students will be trained to be court or judicial reporters, they take down sworn testimony and quickly produce verbatim transcripts for judges, attorneys or litigants.
Cart /captioning: the students learn how to use a stenotype machine which can immediately translate the student's shorthand into clear, accurate written English.
Medical Transcription: the students are trained to be highly skilled medical language specialists who transcribe dictation and edit voice recognition files from doctors, surgeons and medical specialists.
Brown College of Court Reporting & Medical Transcription offers three programs:
The students can visit the campus and contact the admission representative. The students can also download the admission form from the college website and they can mail or fax the printed application. Along with the admission forms the students will have to submit a non refundable application fee of $75, a copy of the high school or GED diploma, copy of driving license, copy of social security card, birth certificate or valid passport. The students will also have to take two entrance exams in English and typing.
Brown College of Court Reporting & Medical Transcription does not offer any housing facilities for the students. The students will find several housing options near the campus and they can arrange their own accommodation according to their convenience.
