Instruction on heavy machinery repair typically require infrastructure and BTS has it. The courses typically range 15 to 45 weeks for day classes and 50 to 81 weeks for evening classes. The admissions office advises all students to book a free personal tour of the facilities before making up their mind to study at the Brownson Technical School. They meet faculty and support staff and financial advisors to discuss their career goals and ways to fund their education. Any resident of California or the United States who have some basic high school education are eligible to be admitted to the school provided they can fund their education. Scholarship and financial aid is provided to deserving students through Pell grants, and other state funding mechanisms.
Since this is a for-profit institution with limited resources and goals, there are no accommodation facilities available through it. Students generally come from nearby communities. Outstation students find accommodation in nearby apartments where they rent rooms.
