|Canada College was founded in 1968 as a part of the three schools San Mateo County Community College District. Canada College is located in Redwood City just off Highway 280. Canada College is a part of the 108 school California Community College system. Canada College is one of the smallest colleges in the Bay Area with about 6,000 students. The college is one of the only two federally designated Hispanic Serving Institutions in the Bay Area. In 2001, Canada College opened its University Center so that students can earn their bachelors degree in nursing, early childhood development, business administration, and liberal studies. The university center also offers Masters in business administration. Canada College has the largest University Center in the Canada community college system. About 42% of the students are Latino. The Canada College has another campus in Menlo Park. The College operates in semester system. Six and eight weeks courses are available during the summer session. Many of the students passing out from here opt for higher studies in renowned 4 year schools. Canada College has 77 full time faculty and 182 part time faculty members. Canada College also participates in different sports such as golf, volleyball, basketball, soccer.

Anybody above the age of 18 years of age may attend Canada College. The tuition fee is $20 per credit. Students who are 16 or 17 years of age and the non high school graduates can apply in Canada College if they have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination with a minimum score of 50 on any one test and an average of 55 or more for all tests.
Campus housing is not available. However, students can opt for off campus housing near the campus.
