Now reckoned as a premier career college, Connecticut School of Broadcasting was founded in 1964 and is spread across 26 locations across the U.S. The college grooms its students with the latest skill set required to excel in the fields of video editing, television broadcasting, online video and audio production and techniques in the internet media. CSB has developed a network of media partners and hires professionals directly involved with the industry as instructors. Course Details at CSB:
The first phase is about getting the students acquainted with hands on training. The students get an overall experience of a radio or TV studio. Radio broadcasting includes vocal techniques, interviewing, writing copy of commercials and hosting radio shows. Television broadcasting includes taking a show from the state of conceptualization to the end. Students also work with the same equipments that is used in actual studios.
The curriculum at CSB has four phases that also includes mentorship and career assistance.
Students are given projects to enhance their skill and performance. This phase is about focused practice. Students work both in groups and individually in creating shows, packaging and editing.
This phase includes developing the right resume with an exciting demo. The campus staff and faculty also review the resume and the demo created by the students. This long term career building endeavor helps the students to fit into the most suitable opportunity.
In this phase the grads participate in workshops and special events. This phase is about lifetime mentoring and career assistance for students. CSB introduces the aspiring professionals to the industry in this stage.
CSB also provides the option of Continuing Education for interested individuals. These offerings include Motion and Soundtrack Pro, Master on-air techniques and Apple software programs including Final Cut Pro.
Admission Procedures at CSB:
The admission process at CSB take few weeks hence candidates are advised to apply earlier for the courses. The college maintains a small class size as a tradition. Admission process includes an interview, depending on the stream of choice of the applicant. The results of the interview are reviewed by the CSB enrollment committee. Application form and record of board education are needed for the process.
The college does not provide housing facility to students. However student apartments and lodging facility is available for students around the area. The college is also located across 26 locations so that the student can chose the campus that is accessible.
