Darton College


Darton College is part of the University System of Georgia. It is situated in Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia. The institution was established in the year 1963 as the Albany Junior College. It started its classes in 1966. In 1987 it got its present name Darton. The word Darton means "town by the water". The campus is 180 acres and has computer labs, fitness center, and sports facilities such as racquetball and tennis courts. The students are mostly from the area where Darton is situated. The college is located in a convenient place which can be easily accessed. Darton provides high quality education which helps the students to achieve their goals, and get into successful careers. The faculty is highly experienced and offers the very best to the students.

Course Details:

Darton College offers around 45 certificate programs, 84 two year transfer and career associate degrees. It offers online degrees so that Darton education is accessible to more and more students. There are around 96 distance learning courses. Some of the programs offered at Darton are:

  • Admission Procedures:

    Students applying for admission at Darton should apply through the online application forms. But the students can come in person also to collect the application forms. A $20 application fee is required to be submitted to the college. A financial aid counselor would help the applicant in providing information about financial assistance. Students are supposed to give the GED scores along with the form. SAT/ACT scores are not required but submission of it may get the applicant exemption from the placement test. Requirements for each program vary hence students are advised to contact the admissions department for further information. International students are supposed to provide the admissions department with TOEFL scores and Student Visa details.

    Accommodation Facilities:

    Students can live on -campus at Darton College and it is a unique experience as it enhances the college experience to a greater level. All housing units at Darton have a private bathroom, kitchen, living room, and bedroom. These are for individual students. There are laundry services available for the students. The common rooms are huge and airy. There is a fitness center too for all the health freaks. Students can apply for housing through online application forms. The housing rents include internet services, utilities, cable and basic furnishing.
