Emmett O Brien Regional Vocational Technical School is a regional technical school which provides education according to the Connecticut State Department of Education. This institute is a school to students from the Lower Naugatuck valley and New Haven county area. It conducts extensive field trips to Ellis island, the statue of Liberty and other historical places apart from the regular classroom instruction. The school also has an extensive community service program through the Student Council Key and SkillsUSA club. It actively promotes diversity in the classroom initiatives and the students from different racial backgrounds in its classes is proof that its initiatives are working. The school also has one of the most vibrant Athletics and Adult education programs in Connecticut.

All courses lead to a high school diploma. The curriculum strictly follows the recommendations of the Connecticut Technical High School System. Honors level courses are available in each of the 7 disciplines. There is an adult education program which offers apprentice and extension courses in subjects such as HVAC technician and electrical fundamentals.
Admission to Emmett O Brien Regional Vocational Technical School depends on past academic and disciplinary record. The following records are required for a decision on admission:

Satisfactory results in the Connecticut Mastery test or entrance exam at Emmett O Brien.
7th grade mastery test results

Previous and current attendance record.
A student must have at least 42% in the mastery test and entrance exam score and have at least 48% in 7th or 8th grade grades and at least 10% attendance in 7th and 8th grades.
The Emmett O Brien Regional Vocational Technical School is an institute with specific resources geared towards specific educational goals. It does not provide any accommodation facilities to its students. Outstation Students need to make their arrangements for staying.
