Introduction:

The Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) is accredited by the Council on Optometric Education of the American Optometric Association. Established in 1872, the Illinois College of Optometry is the largest institution committed to creating optometrists in the U.S. The college is also accredited by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The clinical part of the college known as the Illinois Eye Institute attends over eighty five thousand eye patients every year. The college aims to foster the spirit of healthcare coupled with a strong academic base. The Illinois College of Optometry is a private college and supports eligible students financially through Pell grants and federal aid. The curriculum, faculty and students of the Illinois College of Optometry make the stay at the institute culturally and intellectually stimulating.

The academic courses offered at the Illinois College of Optometry include the following:

    Admission Procedures at ICO:

    Applicants seeking admission at the Illinois College of Optometry have to clear The Optometry Admission Test (OAT). Areas of assessment include general reading comprehension, organic chemistry, physics, quantitative analysis, biology and general chemistry.

    Accommodation facilities at ICO:

    Dorm living is common at the Illinois College of Optometry. However, students also prefer to live off campus. Student's apartments and housing facilities on rent are available around the collage area.
