Jones County Junior College was established in 1911 as an agricultural high school. JCJC Ellisville in its objective of offering quality higher education to members of Jones County introduced two year study programs leading to Associate of Science Degrees, Associate of Arts Degrees, and Vocational Certificates. In its endeavor to offer effective higher education to its students Jones County Junior College in Mississippi offers courses that meet the students' needs as regards profession and interests.
Mississippi JCJC is in accreditation with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, this academy has accreditation with Association of Collegiate Business Schools and programs for its Business studies. For its study programs in Associate Nursing degrees it is accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, while its Medical Radiologic courses are accredited by Joint committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. The Paramedic Technology study courses are in accreditation with Joint Review Committee on Education for the EMT Paramedic or CAHEA.

Admissions to Jones County Junior College
JCJC Mississippi admissions are open to all candidates subject to certain criteria. Applicants planning to pursue an academic or technical course must be a holder of high school diploma or General Equivalence diploma (GED). ACT or American College Test scores are also required to be submitted. Candidates interested in taking up a technical course must pass the TABE (Test of Basic Education) test. Separate pre-conditions exist for guest students, transfer students, and re-admission students.
