Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology

Introduction:

Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology offers a two years program in Associate in Applied Science. This program uses knowledge of physics, human anatomy and physiology to create x-rays. The program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. The school is approved by the State Approving Agency for Veterans Benefits. This field offers exciting career opportunities with promising wage and benefits packages. The program is accredited and the program lasts for 24 months. The program offers hands on experience and classroom training. The school is headed by a specialized physician who is a full time radiologist at the system. The faculty consists of experienced radiologist who has several years of field experience. The programs offer extensive and varied education in the theory and practice of radiologic techniques. The students are trained in the practical aspects of radiologic technology under the supervision of the program director. The students gain practical experience from the rotation through all sections of the department.


Course Details:

The course is for two years. Each of the years has three semesters. The students will gain experience through rotation. The first year offers introduction to radiologic technology, Oral and written communication, Medical terminology, Film Critique, Clinical education, Radiographic procedures, patient care, Exposure and technique. The second year will expose the students to topics like radiation protection, radiation biology, Venipuncture, Pharmacology, Cross Sectional Anatomy and Pathology.

Admission Procedures:

The student must have a high school diploma or equivalent in order to qualify for the program. The tuition fee for the program is $4500 per year. There are other expenditures like books which cost about $600 and uniforms. There is some limited financial assistance too. The school is approved for Veterans Benefits. The students require submitting the completed application to the school by May1.

Accommodation facilities:

Memorial Hospital School of Radiologic Technology do not provide housing, the students will have to find their own accommodations.
