Michigan Theological Seminary


The Michigan Theological Seminary (MTS) has undertaken expansion plans since its inception with regard to faculty strength, student enrolment and academic training. Graduates from the seminary have been engaged in pastoral service, missionaries, counseling and educating the world. Through its academic programs MTS stresses on real life training for the ministry. The alumni of the institute have also made their mark as military chaplains, seminary professors and as agents of Christian education. The Michigan Theological Seminary provides an extensive library facility to the students which have expanded from ten thousand to seventy thousand volumes over the years.

MTS is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS). To make theological education an affordable option for the students, the seminary provides scholarships like Timothy Scholarships, Merit Scholarships, Diamond Scholarships and Financial Assistance Scholarships. Apart from this federal aids are also provided by MTS. The Michigan Theological Seminary (MTS) was incorporated in 1994 by the Michigan Theological society.

Course Details:

The courses offered at the Michigan Theological Seminary (MTS) aims to bridge the gap between theological education and pastoral practice. The discourse offered at the seminary grooms the learners about the practical aspects of serving the ministry. The degree and certificate programs offered at Michigan Theological Seminary include:

  • Master of Theological Studies (MTS)
  • Master of Divinity (M. Div.)
  • Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MACP)
  • Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE)
  • Graduate Certificate in Bible

    Admission Procedures:

    Students who wish to get admitted at the Michigan Theological Seminary (MTS) must have a bachelor degree from an accredited institution. Recommendation letters are also evaluated before admitting the applicant at the seminary. A sample of writing has to be submitted along with a photograph and official transcripts during the admission procedure. An open admission policy is practiced at Michigan Theological Seminary.

    Accommodation Facilities:

    Michigan Theological Seminary does not offer on campus accommodation to the students. However, secure and affordable housing options are available around the campus areas. Several hotels provide lodging facilities at attractive rates. Student's apartments and private lodging facilities are some of the off campus housing options.
