Middlesex Community College


Middlesex Community College was established in 1966. The campus is situated in Middletown, Connecticut. In terms of enrollment, Middlesex Community College is the eight largest of the twelve colleges in the Connecticut Community Colleges System. Middlesex Community College has about 3,900 full time and part time students. The Jean burr Smith Library in Chapman hall subscribes to 142 periodicals, along with various audiovisuals materials including more than 900 DVDs. The college has three distinct campuses. Middletown campus is the main campus with for main buildings and an extensive child day care facility. The other two campuses are in Meridan center and Shoreline. Middlesex Community College also offers financial aids to the students.

Course Details:

The college grants credit, non credit and associate degrees. As an open admission college, Middlesex College offers associate degrees in more than 20 subjects. Middlesex Community College offers degree programs in the following areas:

  • Broadcast Communications
  • Criminal Justice
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Engineering Science
  • Fine Arts
  • General Studies
  • Human Services
  • Mathematics
  • Science and health

    Middlesex Community College also offers Allied Health Transfer options, an LPN Exam Preparation course. Certificate programs are offered in multimedia, software developer, substance abuse education, customer service management, health career pathway, help desk technician, communications networking, business office technology etc. Other than these, the college also offers CT Community College Systemwide Programs, Distance learning programs, Weekend College, Workforce development & Continuing Education etc.

    Admission Procedures:

    Middlesex Community College can apply in three different ways, the students can apply in person, and they can download the application form and mail it to the college. The students can also apply online. For the online application, the student will have to pay the application fee by credit cards. A Connecticut student will have to pay $1492.00 per semester.

    Accommodation facilities:

    Middlesex Community College is a commuter school and it does not offer any housing options. The students will have to arrange for their own accommodation. There are several housing options like rentals and houses available near the campus. The students live with their friends and they get a chance to form lasting bonds of friendship. They grow as a person and they become more mature.
