Norwalk Community College


Norwalk Community College was founded in 1961. Norwalk Community College is a public community college located in Norwalk, Connecticut. Norwalk Community College is the second largest of the twelve colleges of Connecticut community Colleges. Norwalk Community College provides a wide range of credit and non credit liberal arts, science, career enhancing programs, certification programs. Norwalk Community College supports economic development through partnerships with labor, business, communities, providing workforce development. The students are provided educational counseling. They can opt for academic counseling, transfer advising, credit assessment and evaluation. The college library has 60,000 books, periodicals and newspaper. The classes are offered in two semesters (fall and spring) and six summer session. Norwalk Community College has about 6,000 full and part time students in credit programs and about 5,800 students in non credit programs. The college offers Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science. Graduates from this college are eligible for admission to the Connecticut State university system and university of Connecticut. Norwalk Community College is accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Connecticut Board of Governors for higher education, Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc.

Course Details:

Norwalk Community College offers 40 associate degrees and 27 certificate programs including accounting, anthropology, archeology, biology, Athletic coaching, business administration, Chemistry, Communication Arts, Construction technology, Criminal justice, English, Economics, early childhood education, emergency management, Computer science, computer aided drafting, finance and banking, general studies, foreign languages, history, geography, etc.

Admission Procedures:

Norwalk Community College offers open admission policy. The students can apply on line and they can also visit the campus for information regarding admission. The students will also need to submit proof of high school graduation. The students can also request printed information by mailing to the associated department.

Accommodation facilities:

Norwalk Community College offers no housing facilities for the students. The students have to find their own accommodation. They will get several housing options like apartments, houses etc. They can also opt for shared arrangement to optimize cost of living.
