Parkland College was founded in the year 1966. Parkland College is a public community college that offers vocational- technical and academic education. The campus is located in Champaign, Illinois. The college has more than 11,900 credit and non credit students. The college offers career and transfer programs, community classes and workshops and online courses. The college has an excellent state of art. The classes are taken in small size so that the students get personal attention of the faculties and their individual needs can be catered to. The college caters to every need of the students. There are more than a dozen full time counselors and librarians. The college has an excellent state of arts. The campus has more than 85 classrooms, 60 specialized labs, and library with a collection of over 120,000 volumes, an FM radio station, an educational TV station, an art gallery, an experimental agricultural land laboratory, fully equipped physical education and recreational facilities which includes a fitness center. The college has a 320 seat performing art theatre and a 50 foot dome planetarium. The college also has a child development center.
