Smith College

Introduction:

Founded in 1871, Smith College is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The college has student strength of more than 2,600 undergraduates. The college has 285 professors in 41 academic departments. The classes are taken in small sizes so that the individual need of the students can be attended to. The student- faculty ratio is 9:1. The college offers 1000 courses in more than 50 areas of study. The college functions in two semesters (13 weeks of classes) separated by a January break of three weeks. Smith College offers various services for the students like library, athletic facilities, housing, teaching & learning, quantitative learning center, career development office, health service and counseling services etc. The athletic facilities offered by Smith College are excellent. There are 14 sports and extensive intramural and club sport programs. There are three building sports complex including two gymnasium, six lane pool, and weight training room, training room, climbing wall, fitness center, dance studio, indoor track and tennis center. There are other outdoor facilities. The students are involved in various extracurricular activities; there are more than 100 student organizations.

Course Details:

Smith College offers a wide range of programs. The college offers academic majors, minors, liberal arts, etc. The college offers academic majors in astronomy, biochemistry, classical studies, comparative literature, computer science, East Asian Languages and cultures, East Asian studies, psychology etc. The college offers the following degree programs:
