Southern New England School of Law

Introduction:

Southern New England School of Law was established in the year 1981. The campus is located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Southern New England School of Law is accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The classes are taken in small sizes. The student-faculty ratio is 20:1. The faculty members are highly qualified and are easily accessible by the students. The students can learn in close classrooms so they tend to perform better. The curriculum is rigorous and the students get to learn all the different areas of law. .

Course Details:

Southern New England School of Law offers three programs leading to Juris Doctor Degree. The programs are as follows:

  • The Evening / Weekend program: The classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday during day. The electives are also scheduled on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The program takes about four and a half year to complete and is suitable for working students.

  • Summer sessions: if the students opt for summer session then they can complete the course in two and a half year while the part time course needs about four years.
  • The Day programs: The full time program can be completed in three years.

    All the students need to opt for courses like contracts, Torts, Civil procedures, two years of legal skills, criminal law, business organizations, legal ethics etc. The students must complete a minimum of 89 hours of credit, complete all course requirements and have a minimum grade point average of 70. The college also offers clinical programs like immigration law clinic, community development clinic, legal service clinic etc.

    Admission Procedures:

    The students opting for admission in Southern New England School of Law must complete an application form and pay the non refundable application fee of $50. The students will have to submit two letters of recommendation. The students will have to submit a brief typed personal statement explaining their wish to study law. The school uses rolling admission procedure.

    Accommodation facilities:

    Southern New England School of Law does not offer any housing facilities. The students will find several housing options near the campus,
