Established in 1881 as the Atlanta Baptist Female Seminary, Spelman College has been given the present name in the year 1924. This four-year liberal arts women's college is a member of the Atlanta University Center academic consortium and is positioned in the stunning city of Atlanta, Georgia. Spelman College serves more than 2,000 students and is known as America's oldest historically black college for women. The 9 acres campus of this Georgia College features five buildings. Here learners are offered more than 25 majors and minors in various fields of study such as, arts, mathematics, natural sciences as well as humanities and social sciences. As Spelman College doesn't offer open admission policy, all the applicants don't get chance to study here. Students are selected from the qualified applicants. Freshmen students are selected based on their high school records as well as SAT or ACT scores, recommendations, and personal information. Transfer students are not ignored, but seat is limited for them. Same selection criteria are applicable for them too.
