Thomas M. Cooley Law School located in Lansing, Michigan is a top law school. More than 3000 enrolled part time and full time students make it the largest of its kind in the United States. This college features among the affordable colleges of the nation. It is a private institution which does not owe affiliation to any university. This law school was established by Thomas E. Brennan, the then Justice of Michigan Supreme Court in the year 1972. It was named after Thomas M. Cooley who had held position of a jurist and Justice at Michigan Supreme Court in the 19th century. American Bar Association completely accredited this school in the year 1978.

A large ten storey building in downtown Lansing which houses administrative offices, courtrooms, faculty/ student service offices, student bookstore and a well-stocked law library offers a great learning environment. The Lansing Campus houses Cooley's Sixty-Plus Elder Law Clinic, Estate Planning Clinic and Cooley Innocence Project.

Grand Rapids Campus, Auburn Hills Campus and Ann Arbor Campus are the several branches of Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Course Details:

In respect to academic programs and educational resources Thomas M. Cooley Law School provides wide variety. Day, evening and weekend classes are offered by full-time faculty. The other administrative staff of the law school completes the experience of learning. The majority of the students pursue Juris Doctor (J.D.) course. The other options are Master of Law (LL M.) degrees, a joint J.D. / Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) program and J.D. / Master of Business Administration program. In the third year of the academic curriculum the students may concentrate on specific areas like Business Transactions, General Practice, Litigation and Public and International Law.

You can pursue LL M. degrees in the following areas of study:

    Thomas M. Cooley Law School also offers clinical programs like Cooley Innocence Project. Nationwide there are several such projects to help those people who have been wrongfully put behind bars.

    Admission Procedures:

    For getting admission in Thomas M. Cooley Law School you have to sit for LSAT (Law School Admissions Test). Then you need to register with Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). There's a special Thomas Cooley Admission formula which determines your chance of admission. The formula is UGPA x 15 + Highest LSAT score = Admission Index.
