United States Naval Academy

Introduction:

United States Naval Academy was founded in 10th October, 1845. It is Federal Military academy located in Annapolis, Maryland. The campus is located at the confluence of the Severn River and the Chesapeake Bay. No graduate school is directly associated with the Naval Academy. The United States Naval Academy operates the Naval Postgraduate School and Naval War College. The Naval Academy Preparatory School is the official prep school for the Naval and Coast Guard Academies. The academy has about 500 faculty members, consisting of civilian professors and military instructors. All the civilian professors have doctoral degrees. All the military instructors have master degree and some of them have doctoral degrees. United States Naval Academy offers several student services. United States Naval Academy also offers several athletic facilities like basketball, football, lacrosse, track and field, rugby etc. The students are also involved in intramurals, clubs sports, musical performance group, religious organizations, debate teams etc.

Course Details:

United States Naval Academy offers a wide range of courses awarding Bachelor of Science degree. The academy offers 22 majors with a wide variety of elective courses and advanced study and research opportunities. The courses are offered in the following areas:

    Admission Procedures:

    The admission in United States Naval Academy demands that the student must be between seventeen and twenty three years of age upon entrance. They must be unmarried with no children and of good moral character. The admission process includes a college application, personality testing, standardized testing and personal references. The students will also have to take a physical aptitude test and a complete physical examination.

    Accommodation facilities:

    United States Naval Academy offers housing facilities. There are two types of housing facilities. There are Coed housing and wellness housing facilities (alcohol, drug and smoke free). United States Naval Academy also offers meal plans.
