Brigham Young University-Hawaii is a private institution which was founded in 1955. It is an undergraduate co-educational university. It serves around 2,400 students from Asia, U.S. and the Pacific Islands. It is affiliated with the LDS Church. It is named after the religious leader Brigham Young. BYU-H was established as Church College of Hawaii. It started of with 153 students and 20 faculty members. The college was at first a two year college but later it became a four year college in the year 1959. In the year 1961 it was accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. After 50 years of educational excellence BYU-H concentrates on educating the young minds, by sharpening the skills and knowledge of the students. Students are provided with on-campus accommodation facilities at BYU-H. There are separate residence halls for men and women. There are separate arrangements for married people also. Online application forms are available if the prospective students want to apply for housing on-campus.
