Brigham Young University-Hawaii

Introduction:

Brigham Young University-Hawaii is a private institution which was founded in 1955. It is an undergraduate co-educational university. It serves around 2,400 students from Asia, U.S. and the Pacific Islands. It is affiliated with the LDS Church. It is named after the religious leader Brigham Young. BYU-H was established as Church College of Hawaii. It started of with 153 students and 20 faculty members. The college was at first a two year college but later it became a four year college in the year 1959. In the year 1961 it was accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. After 50 years of educational excellence BYU-H concentrates on educating the young minds, by sharpening the skills and knowledge of the students. BYU-H has a multi-cultural campus, where academic and spiritual learning are given special importance.



Course Details:

BYU-H offers the perfect environment for the students where their intellect and personality is built. There are 40 majors in diversified fields of study. It is one of the top universities in Hawaii. It has a 17:1 student/teacher ratio. Some of the programs that are offered at BYU-H are:

    Admission Procedures:

    Students are to apply for admission at BYU-H through the online application forms available. Freshmen students are to submit their SAT/ACT scores and GED scores, official high school transcripts, and $30 application fee. International students should submit TOEFL scores.     Accommodation Facilities:

    Students are provided with on-campus accommodation facilities at BYU-H. There are separate residence halls for men and women. There are separate arrangements for married people also. Online application forms are available if the prospective students want to apply for housing on-campus. Off-campus housing is also available as in assistance will be provided to the students by BYU-H if they wish to stay at an off-campus location. Most rooms in the residence halls are double occupancy. There are facilities like free internet access, and IP Telephone.
