Emory University


Emory University is a private institution. It is a research intensive university. It is situated in the metropolitan area of Atlanta. It is a very reputed institution. The institution was founded in 1836. It is named after John Emory, a bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church. It is often referred to as a Southern Ivy. It was founded as Emory College. It was closed for a short time span during the American Civil War. From 1953 onwards Emory started admitting women students. Emory University is 18th among national Universities. This ranking is according to U.S. News& World Report. Emory University is one of the best universities which provide excellent quality education.
