Finlandia University


The only public school in the Upper Peninsula region of the state, the Finlandia University is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).A scenic setting, an exciting athletic life and a low student to teacher ratio are the assets of the university. Since 1896, the Finlandia University, MI has always maintained spiritual service and academic excellence as its priorities.

The institution also provides opportunities to the students to study abroad. The university is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association for Colleges and Schools (NCA-HLC). The university has twelve varsity sports that comprises of ice hockey, baseball, cross country, basketball, soccer, golf to name a few. Finlandia University is also affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III.

    Admission Procedures:

    The Finlandia University has a rolling admission policy. The students can apply for admission throughout the year and can even make online applications. Transcripts of previous academic achievements, SAT or ACT scores, and a personal essay has to be presented along with the stipulated application fee as a part of the admission procedure.

    Accommodation facilities:

    The Finlandia University offers accommodation facilities through residential halls at the campus. The double occupancy rooms provided to the students are spacious with facilities like television, high speed internet and student lounge. The Finlandia Hall provides a 24 hour quiet floor fourth for students who need a serene environment to live. At an additional cost a student can also get a single occupancy room.
