Loyola University Chicago


Loyola University Chicago was established in 1870 as Saint Ignatius College. Named for the Jesuit patron, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, this Illinois higher learning institution was founded by the Roman Catholic religious order of the Society of Jesus. The university is also known as LU and presently serves more 15,500 plus students. Loyola University Chicago is a private co-educational Jesuit university and offers wide range of degrees and programs in various domains of study. LU is a member of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities is considered as one of the 262 "national universities" by U.S. News & World Report.
