Siena Heights University


Established in 1919 by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, Siena Heights University is a renowned Roman Catholic post secondary institution in Michigan. Known as SHU, this university accommodates more than 2,000 students. More than 40 majors are offered here and the students are awarded with Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, and specialist's degrees. SHU is located in Adrian, Michigan and it also has a number of satellite campuses in Battle Creek, Lansing, Southfield, Benton Harbor, Monroe, Jackson, Ann Arbor, and Port Huron.

Affiliated with the St. Joseph Academy and Montessori Children's House, this prestigious higher learning institution is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCACS). Siena Heights University accommodates its students in several academic divisions such as, Division of Social and Behavioral Science, Division of Computing, Mathematics and the Sciences, Division of Business and Management as well as Division of Visual and Performing Arts and Teacher Education and Division of Humanities.

    Admission Procedures:

    Siena Heights University is very much selective and all the applicants don't get the chance to study. For freshmen students, high school cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 and an ACT composite score of 18 or more is the minimum eligibility for admission. For the transfer applicants, it is a must to have good academic and personal background as well as a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. The students must also have 12 semester hours of transferable credit. Prospective students can apply online.

    Accommodation Facilities:

    The campus of Siena Heights University encompasses 55-acre of total area and on campus housing facilities are offered to the students. The students take part in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). Besides, the campus is also home to a large number of club and organizations. The Eclipse and the Spectra are the student-run newspaper of the university.
