University of Minnesota Medical School - Duluth


University of Minnesota Medical School - Duluth is a medical school belonging to University of Minnesota. The University has two campuses- one is at Minneapolis and the other is at Duluth in Minnesota. The mission of Medical School Duluth is to educate students who are keen to practice family medicine in rural parts of Minnesota and in American Indian communities. Duluth is home to Center of American Indian and Minority Health; hence the university encourages more and more Native Americans to choose a medical profession.

The programs of the medical school entail a two year study of academic courses; after which the students get automatically transferred to University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.

Course Details:

University of Minnesota Medical School - Duluth offers programs which includes 2 year curriculum of basic medical and clinical science. Distinguished research programs are also part of this college. You can get one-to-one teaching experience with doctors and can work with Native American communities. After completion of two year course a student can pursue Rural Physician Associate Program or clerkship programs. The Center of American Indian and Minority Health takes up the program to recruit American Indians in medical schools so that they can serve the Native Americans.

    Admission Procedures:

    For admission in University of Minnesota Medical School - Duluth MCAT score and a bachelor's degree earned from an US or Canadian college is required. The University of Minnesota Medical School, which has two campuses, has decided to have a unified AMCAS identity. It will facilitate the students in applying for programs in any one campus or to both of them. Separate supplemental application procedure of the two campuses will remain as it is.
