University Of West Georgia


University Of West Georgia is a residential State University. It is located in Carrollton, Georgia. The university has a 645 acre campus. Off-campus classes are also held at Newman, Dalton, and Georgia Highlands College in Rome. UWG was established in the year 1906. It was founded as the Fourth District Agricultural and Mechanical School. In 1933 the name was changed to West Georgia College. More than 10,000 students are pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at UWG every year. It is the only university in Georgia which has an honors college operating under it. The 940 faculty members are experienced and they provide the best quality learning. They are dedicated towards student's success and achievement.

Course Details:

There are around 109 programs of study at UWG. There are 60 programs in the bachelor's level, 45 at the master's and 2 at the doctoral level. Online courses are available for both graduate and undergraduate students. Some of the programs available at UWG are:

    Admission Procedures:

    Online application forms are available for candidates applying for admission at UWG. Students can track their admission status online. Students can apply for financial aid programs. Students need to submit along with the form, immunization form, SAT/ACT scores, official high school transcripts, and an application fee of $30. This amount is non-refundable.     Accommodation Facilities:

    There are around 8 residence halls at UWG campus providing accommodation. Living on-campus is very convenient for the students as they can avail the university facilities and stay near the place where the classes are held. The residence halls are as follows: Arbor View Apts, Bowdon Hall, Boykin Hall, Downs Hall, Gunn Hall, Strozier Complex, Tyus Hall, University Suites, and Watson Hall. Students can stay at off-campus locations also if they wish but the accommodation will have to be arranged by the students only as students will not get any assistance from the University.
